MATH: Chapter 7: 7-1,7-2, 7-3, 7-4; Division- using patterns to divide, estimating quotients, dividing with remainders, two-digit quotients.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Dolphin Adventure book,work on study guide for review, for test on Tuesday. Student to construct and write a thank you note to Ripley's Aquarium Education Guides, Kristen and Dominic.
LANGUAGE ARTS: Back to our writing workshop: lessons, 6-9: Finding & crafting thesis statements, boxes & bullets: framing essays, learning to outgrow a first thesis, composing & sorting mini-stories.

MATH: Lessons 5-6, 5-7, 5-8, 5-9: multiply 3-digit numbers by 1 digit numbers, problem-solving skill; try, check and revise; choose a computation method; and multiplying money. Also we are continuing to do timed multiplication tests. this review helps the students to learn their times tables!
GRAMMAR: Adjectives: workbook pages 94-101. moving right along!
LANGUAGE ARTS: Open Court Anthology story: "Messages by the Mile", TEST TUESDAY, 3/20. REVIEW SHEET SENT HOME. We will work on the "Whalesong" poety piece this week and learn to write a poem.
WRITING WORKSHOP: We will continue to work daily on writing essays: learning strategies for developing essay stories, narrative and non-narrative structures, using conversational prompts, and generating essay writing from narrative writing. These students are AWESOME WRITERS PARENTS!
OTHER THINGS: PARENTS: PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL'S TONIGHT FOR ADDITIONAL INFO. ON OUR AQUARIUM TRIP!!! WE ARE EXCITED. I AM GEARING OUR LANGUAGE ARTS STORIES TOWARD OCEANOGRAPHY THEMES TO HELP US GET READY.
