CSCL Bible Department, K-12

Dear Friends,

We have several teams of students from the school going out on missions trips this spring.  Let's pray for the Lord's Presence and kingdom to come powerfully to them and through them on their journeys.  Let's ask the Lord to bless all of the kids in CSCL with the fullness of His highest grace for their growth and maturity in Him as they complete this year.

1).  5th Grade is on their way to New York City with Sharon Rowland leading.  They return on Tuesday.

2).  Seven 10th and 11th Grade students will go with Mike Roy to the Philippines for five weeks, leaving April 15, to train for and host youth camps with World Impact.

3).  CSCL Seniors will go to Israel on their senior class trip, leaving May 17.

John Wesley said, "God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it." Please continue to press in with us as we lift our young people to the Father, to "labor until Christ is formed" in them.

If you'd like to pray with other CSCL parents, we meet corporately on Wednesdays from 2:00-3:00 in the Resource Room.

Thank you!  Bless you!

Ruth Herr

Elementary school character trait for March is "courage."

Memory verse:  Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you, "Be strong and courageous!  Do not be discouraged or afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Vision for the CSCL Bible Department:

Sow the Word in the power of the Holy Spirit

to help kids know, grow, and abide in the Lord;

lead, guard, train, equip and release this generation for their callings in the kingdom.

In all of our Bible classes we want to cultivate our personal 1st love relationship with the Lord. We desire to train the kids to hear His voice, to know how to abide in Him, the freedom of walking in the Spirit in communion with Him, and an appreciation and hunger for the Bible and the power of His Word.  The Bible is the Word of God, revealed and inspired (God breathed) by the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit engages our spirit while we read His Word, He releases into us life, light, healing, nourishment, and pure enjoyment of His Presence. He brings the Word to Life, bringing forth the Son, the Living Word in us.

Grade Level Emphases, Elementary Grades:

Each year the elementary grades will study who God is, where the Bible came from, the story of redemption, and an overview of God’s relationship to us from creation to Jesus’ birth. Each year we will study Jesus’ life and teachings through the viewpoint of one of the Gospels. New Testament studies emphasize life in the kingdom through the new covenant Jesus brought, and life in the Holy Spirit and the supernatural realms of heaven.
